A Walking Billboard for Laser Treatment
"If you’re concerned about brown spots, aging spots, they do a great job with the BBL treatment to get rid of them. They're either diminished or completely gone. In my case, they were completely gone."—Herb Levin
Herb Levin of Deerfield found out about Halo Laser & Aesthetic Medicine by seeing our work out on the street.
He saw a man whose face looked great: Herb says the man had a good skin tone and very few wrinkles for his. Herb asked the man where he went, and the answer was, "Halo Medicine."
Initially, Herb came to Halo for broadband light (BBL) laser treatment, which he says, "worked out great." After that, he came in for BBL and Halo Laser at the same time. "The results were excellent," he says. "It really took away some wrinkles, popped up my skin the way it should have and eliminated brown spots. I'm very happy with the results."
Laser Treatment Eliminates Herb's Brown Spots
One common question about laser treatments is: Will it hurt?
Herb says he experienced no pain with BBL and very little with the Halo Laser treatment. For the Halo treatment, we apply a cream to the skin, which Herb describes as "feeling hot," the sensation of which can last for about a day. But he assures people that, "Yes, it’s worth it."
When he tells people about Halo, Herb explains what they did and then says, "If you’re concerned about brown spots, aging spots, they do a great job with the BBL treatment to get rid of them. They're either diminished or completely gone. In my case, they were completely gone.
"The results were exactly what they told me they would be. All in all, a very positive experience. I’ve been telling as many people as I can. I referred both my sisters, and friends have gone there on my recommendation.”
Forever Young Broadband Light (BBL): A Fountain of Youth
The BBL treatments that Herb had done are also known as Photorejuvenation, IPL, PhotoFacial and FotoFacial treatments. When done on an annual or semi-annual basis, they do more than just improve the appearance of lax skin and pigmentation on the skin. The presence of genetic modulation scientifically proves that skin is repaired to a healthier, more youthful state. This means we are truly slowing down the aging process of skin.
How do we know this? A Stanford University study reports groundbreaking findings that are as close as we’ve come to a true “Fountain of Youth” supported by peer reviewed science. The study provided clinical evidence that our Sciton® BroadBand Light™ (BBL) rejuvenates gene expression to be more like youthful skin. This means that for the first time, we have scientific evidence that, BBL does more than just improve the appearance of lax skin and pigmentation on the skin. When BBL is done a minimum of once annually, your skin is improved and restored to a more youthful state at a genetic level.
Forever Young BBL™ treatments are safe, scientifically proven anti-aging treatments. The study was published in the prestigious Journal of Investigative Dermatology and can be referenced on the Forever Young BBL website.
Broadband Light Laser (BBL) FAQs
What Conditions Can Be Treated with Broadband Light (BBL)?
- Acne (in some cases)
- Age spots
- Brown spots
- Freckles
- Hyperpigmentation
- Melasma (pregnancy mask)
- Redness, flushing
- Red spots
- Rosacea and facial spider veins
- Sun Damage – See how BBL and Halo laser treatments are helping one fair-skinned client reverse sun damage and ward off skin cancer.
The treated areas darken immediately following the treatment and then gradually fade over two weeks, yielding younger and fresher looking skin.
There is no downtime associated with a BBL treatment. You can resume normal activities immediately. The BBL can be used safely and effectively on the face, neck, chest and rest of the body.
How Does BBL Work?
BBL (or Broadband Light) works primarily by using photothermal energy to stimulate cells into regenerating. It’s delivered via a handheld device that gives off IPL (or Intense Pulsed Light).
Treatments eliminate the fine vessels that cause redness, while reducing the melanin that produces sun and age spots. Skin becomes smoother with reduced pores, and uneven pigmentation fades.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
The amount of treatments needed can vary from patient to patient. You Halo team member will work with you to create a specialized treatment plan based on your specific needs.
What Happens During the Procedure?
As the light gets absorbed by your skin, you may feel a sensation of warmth. Some patients describe it as feeling like a light “rubber band snap.” The time it will take will depend on how large of an area you need treated.
What Should I Expect After the Treatment?
You may have some redness that will only last for a few hours. Some spots may appear darker at first, followed by some fading and peeling afterwards. Your Halo team member will discuss with you what to expect based on your skin type, treatment type and area you are having treated.
What is the Recovery Time with BBL?
This non-invasive procedure typically has no downtime. In most cases, you can return to work and get back to your normal activities right away. You will have to use sunscreen and avoid direct sun exposure as much as you are able. However, recovery might vary based on how intense the treatment was. Your Halo team member can work closely with you through the recovery phase and will tell you what to expect.
